A case study presented by active UPC litigators.
In June 2023, the international Unified Patent Court (UPC) was launched in 18 EU member states. Since day one, BARDEHLE PAGENBERG has been involved in more than 270 UPC cases and has consolidated its position as the leading firm, trusted to represent both plaintiffs and defendants. The case of Philips vs Belkin, filed on the first day of the UPC, June 1, 2023, was the first case that went through both instances at the UPC. In its decision released on October 3, the Court of Appeal clarified many important aspects of procedural and material law and awarded our client Philips an important victory.
Join three active UPC litigators involved not only in the Philips vs Belkin litigation but in over 80 UPC actions to discuss the lessons learned from this landmark decision and other important cases. An analysis of the Philips vs Belkin case and excursions into other relevant proceedings will show what it takes to win at the UPC both for plaintiffs and for defendants.
Please join us in person on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at 5 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. JST at the Hotel Okura in Tokyo.
