Luca M. Berger

Dr. rer. nat., M.Sc.

Luca M. Berger specializes in drafting patent applications and guiding clients through examination proceedings before the European and German Patent Offices. He also handles infringement and validity issues, as well as opposition, appeal, and nullity proceedings.

He gained years of hands-on experience in R&D during his time as a doctoral researcher at Ludwig Maximilian University Munich and as a postdoctoral researcher at the Technical University of Munich. With a strong background in nanotechnology, photonics, optics, laser science, materials science, and (photo-)electrochemistry, he excels at protecting technically complex inventions.

As lead author of several publications in high-impact journals, he has developed a keen ability to identify the essence of complex research and now applies this skill to distilling and communicating the core of an invention. He holds a master’s degree in physics from King’s College London, which included a year abroad at the University of California, Santa Barbara.

For me, precision in protecting innovation is not just a service—it’s a reflection of my professional integrity. Every detail matters when excellence is the standard.
