The first half of 2025 saw continued growth of BARDEHLE PAGENBERG’s integrated team of attorneys-at-law and patent attorneys, with seven new hires joining the firm’s offices in Munich and Hamburg.

Ann-Kathrin Michel joins from the global commercial law firm Dentons, where she worked closely with the London team in patent prosecution and opposition. “I am very much looking forward to the opportunities and challenges of growing in and with one of the leading IP law firms in Europe.”
Lisa Fleidl moves from the commercial law firm Graf von Westphalen and is looking forward to deepening her knowledge in her favorite area of law: “What really appealed to me about BARDEHLE PAGENBERG is its clear focus and the associated combined expertise brought together by patent attorneys and attorneys-at-law. Karin Bek is moving from the law firm Pinsent Masons, where she represented national and international clients in the field of life sciences/IP and advised them on contract law matters. Karin Bek is to further immerse herself in patent law and develop her expertise in this field in an even more targeted manner in the future. Above all, she appreciates the opportunity “to work at BARDEHLE PAGENBERG in an environment of outstanding professional quality and inspiring personalities.”
Dr. Thomas Kotzott joins BARDEHLE PAGENBERG after successfully completing his training as a German and European Patent Attorney. He is optimistic about all the new challenges he will face “in an excellent team with technical and legal know-how” and looks forward to “working together to develop innovative solutions for clients.”

Benedikt Dellen will join the firm on August 1, 2025, from Hogan Lovells Int. LLP, where he primarily handled complex, cross-border patent infringement proceedings. “The move to BARDEHLE PAGENBERG marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for me. | Ann-Kathrin Michel, M.Sc. (Physics), LL.M. Ann-Kathrin Michel is a German and European Patent Attorney and UPC Representative. As a physicist with an LL.M. in European Intellectual Property Law, she counsels clients in a variety of technical disciplines. Ann-Kathrin Michel has been working in the field of intellectual property law since 2015. One focus of her work is on patent prosecution, opposition and opposition appeal proceedings, as well as the preparation of infringement and validity opinions. In addition to her expertise in experimental physics with a focus on nanotechnology, Ann-Kathrin Michel has specialist knowledge in the fields of mechanical engineering, mechanics, robotics, process engineering, electronics, renewable energies, optics, and medical technology. |
| Lisa Fleidl Lisa Fleidl advises national and international clients, in particular patent pools and owners of standard-essential patents, as an attorney-at-law with a focus on patent litigation, related antitrust issues, and enforcement proceedings. Lisa Fleidl was already involved in IP law during her studies at the University of Hamburg as a research associate and also devoted her legal clerkship to it. |
| Tomasz Klama, Dr. jur. Dr. Tomasz Klama studied at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich and, as part of his training, completed stages including at the Regional Court of Munich II and at a law firm in Warsaw. During his studies and legal clerkship, he gained experience in various areas of law, in particular in product liability law and litigation. He deepened this experience by working as a research associate in several major international law firms, such as Pinsent Masons and Hogan Lovells. Dr. Tomasz Klama works in various languages, primarily German, English, and Polish. |
| Karin Bek Karin Bek studied law at the University of Bayreuth and completed an LL.M. degree in Intellectual Property Law at Queen Mary University of London in Paris and London. During her legal clerkship in Munich, she gained practical experience in intellectual property and pharmaceutical law at Preu Bohlig & Partner in Munich and in patent litigation at Bristows LLP in London. She also worked as a research associate in these areas. Before joining BARDEHLE PAGENBERG, Karin Bek worked for an international pharmaceutical company and for the major law firm Pinsent Masons, with a focus on life sciences/IP. |
| Thomas Kotzott, Dr. rer. nat., M.Sc. Physics During his training as a patent attorney at the law firm SEEMANN & PARTNER in Hamburg, Dr. Thomas Kotzott was involved in national and international patent prosecution and validity proceedings. As a result, he has extensive experience in various technical fields in the context of patent law. Before working in intellectual property law, Thomas studied physics in Göttingen and Madrid, specializing in solid-state and materials physics. He then carried out research in the field of surface science and nanosciences. The main focus of his work includes patent prosecution proceedings, validity proceedings, and the enforcement of intellectual property rights in patent infringement proceedings. |
| Selina Opas As part of her bachelor’s degree in advertising and market communication, Selina Opas already dealt intensively with issues relating to brands, designs, and competition. She maintained this focus during her law studies and legal clerkship, which she undertook in Munich and New York—now with a clear legal focus. Most recently, she worked as a legally-qualified employee in the field of intellectual property law at Bird & Bird. While working as an attorney-at-law at BARDEHLE PAGENBERG in the Trademark and Design team, Selina Opas is also completing her doctorate on a trademark law topic. |
| Benedikt Dellen, B.Sc. (Hons) Biochemistry (St Andrews) Benedikt Dellen is an attorney-at law and biochemist. His combined legal and scientific training gives him special access to the interests of his clients. He has many years of experience in conducting complex, international parallel patent infringement proceedings with teams from the EU, the United Kingdom, and the US. His main focus is on advising clients in patent litigation, especially companies operating in the fields of medical devices, pharmaceuticals, telecommunications, aerospace, and semiconductor technology. Before studying law at the Humboldt University of Berlin, Benedikt Dellen obtained a Bachelor of Science (Honors) in Biochemistry at the University of St Andrews in Scotland. |
