Press release of August 03, 2015
Formerly a partner at IP boutique Gilbey Delorey from which she was recruited in 2012 by Bird & Bird, Rebecca’s practice focuses on the protection, exploitation and enforcement of trademarks, industrial designs and copyright. For close to eighteen years, she has been advising large and small clients in a broad range of industries including automotive, electronics, food & beverage, fashion and sportswear, on securing protection of IP assets and defending them before national and European offices and jurisdictions. She has extensive experience representing and defending well-known brands against counterfeiting, infringement, parallel imports and other acts of trademark misuse. In addition to her contentious practice, Rebecca is responsible for the management and prosecution of trademark and design portfolios. Recognized as one of the leading IP professionals in France by the main legal directories, Rebecca was named “IP Star” by Managing Intellectual Property in 2014 and 2015 and was most recently lauded by Who’s Who Legal 2015 for her “unparalleled knowledge on CTM jurisdiction issues, damages awards by French courts and other disputed-related matters”.
She is joined by associate Axel Munier, a five-year qualified lawyer who started his career with Bird & Bird in 2010, as well as Lydie Maury, a certified trademark paralegal and legal assistant Camilla Søeborg.
Rebecca commented: “BARDEHLE PAGENBERG is a great fit for me and my team who are accustomed to working as a tightly-knit group in an international environment. With its 160 professionals established across five European offices and its network of tried and tested correspondents throughout the world, the firm has the international reach that global clients need and expect. Yet it offers the deep expertise on both legal and technical aspects of IP, the acute focus on client care and the ‘friendliness’ of an IP boutique.”
Julien Fréneaux, managing partner of BARDEHLE PAGENBERG’s Paris office, states: “We are delighted to welcome Rebecca and her team. Their expertise in all areas of soft IP strengthens our offering in the French market while the international scope of Rebecca’s practice further enhances our profile as a truly global IP player.”
Claus Eckhart, partner and head of the firm's trademark department in Munich proudly comments: “We are extremely happy to take Rebecca and her team on board in Paris. Her impressive international client base complements very well our established client structure in the trademark and design area. We are very excited to have such a highly acclaimed and seasoned practitioner such as Rebecca join the firm. This will significantly boost the clout of the non-technical IP practice of BARDEHLE PAGENBERG and promises new opportunities and synergies going forward.”
