Mechanical Engineering

Mechanical inventions require a particular skill in defining technology in words. In many cases, there is no common internationally accepted terminology in the field. In addition, the use of accepted terminology - if it exists - may limit the scope of protection unduly, because some of these words may imply additional features which are not explicitly mentioned in the patent claims.

With respect to the language issue in mechanics, our attorneys have detailed knowledge of the domestic and international practice and case law related to the use of generic and functional features needed to achieve broad protection for the inventions of our clients.

Our attorneys in this field all speak several languages and can boast a long-standing mastery of this unique aspect of inventions in the field of mechanical engineering.
