All matters relating to patents, utility models and designs, focusing on the fields of mechanics (e.g. sports equipment), physics (e.g. superconductors, measuring technology), telecommunications (e.g. mobile phone technology, multimedia) and hardware/software (e.g. PC production, XML databases).

He regularly represents clients in patent application proceedings before the German Patent and Trademark Office and the European Patent Office, including opposition proceedings. During recent years many successful outcomes of such proceedings were obtained for clients, in particular before the opposition departments and technical boards of appeal of the EPO.

Another focus of Hans Wegner's activities as a patent attorney is the enforcement of IP rights before the patent-chambers of the German civil courts as well as parallel nullity proceedings before the Federal Patent Court. His experience enables him to provide expert advice to clients seeking to establish a portfolio of valid patent assets.
