The practice of Henning Hartwig comprises prosecution and litigation of IP rights in the fields of trademark, design, copyright and unfair competition law.

A main focus of his professional activity is national and international industrial design law, in particular multinational design infringement proceedings as well as invalidity proceedings before the OHIM in Alicante. As editor of the annual casebook entitled “Design Protection in Europe”, the only one of its kind, Henning Hartwig has unique access to Europe-wide unpublished decisions on Community and national design infringement. Clients in this field include manufacturers of the computer industry, electronic games, fitness equipment and the clothing industry. Henning Hartwig recently also successfully conducted and coordinated a number of multi-jurisdictional infringement proceedings in Germany, Italy, Switzerland, France, Austria and the Netherlands. He also acted in one of the first infringement proceedings in Germany concerning an unregistered Community design.

Further professional activities concern the German Unfair Competition Law, the worldwide fight against product piracy and trademark matters. Here he represents clients of consumer healthcare and the food industry.

He is also active in copyright protection, having represented one of the leading European furniture manufacturers.
