Patent infringement in a number of technical fields, in particular semiconductor technology, optoelectronic systems and computer-related inventions; licence agreements; complex patent prose-cution cases and opposition and patent nullity in all instances before the European Patent Office and the German Patent and Trademark Office/German Patent Office.

Recently, Peter Hess was part of a BARDEHLE PAGENBERG team of patent attorneys and attorneys-at-law who successfully defended a global DRAM manufacturer of semiconductor memory chips in a series of cases.

Further important matters have concerned hardware emulation systems for the verification of integrated circuits, diagnostic sen-sors for medical applications and various infringement cases in the automotive supplier industry. A common characteristic of many cases is the management of parallel patent litigation across different European jurisdictions. Most of these matters require careful coordination with parallel litigation in the US.

Since 2002, Peter Hess has been a member of the board of the German Bar of Patent Attorneys. He joined the board of LES Germany in 2004. Since 2008 he is Treasurer of LES International.

From 2006 to 2008, Peter Hess was managing partner of BARDEHLE PAGENBERG.

Peter Hess is individually recommended in the 2007 and 2009 Guide to the World's Leading Patent Law Practitioners, which is produced in association with Managing Intellectual Property (MIP) magazine, as well as in Best Lawyers, Legal 500 EMEA 2008, in JUVE German Commercial Law Firms 2009/2010, and in Best Lawyers 2010.
