
The professional activities of Markus Coehn as a patent attorney include representation in patent grant and opposition proceedings before the patent offices as well as nullity proceedings before the German Federal Patent Court and the Federal Supreme Court. He co-operates regularly with the attorneys at law of BARDEHLE PAGENBERG in patent infringement proceedings.
Markus Coehn is active in all fields of chemistry, pharma and chemical engineering, concentrating primarily on pharmaceuticals and polymer chemistry. Since several years, Markus Coehn has been advising a pharmaceutical manufacturer in all stages of its product development (patent grant procedures for the API, polymorphs, formulation and dosage, as well as legal opinions, freedom-to-operate analyses and SPC processes). In the field of polymer chemistry, Markus Coehn is in charge of the European patent portfolio of one of the largest polymer producers world-wide.
A current highlight is the defence of a key patent for high performance plastics before the Federal Supreme Court. Other important cases are the defence of a patent concerning cytological fixing agents before the Federal Supreme Court as well as a nullity action before the Federal Patent Court against the key patent of a large-scale technical production process of antioxidants for vehicle tires.
Markus Coehn regularly publishes contributions on practice-oriented questions concerning Industrial Property.
