

Contentious and non-contentious trademark and unfair competition matters, design, copyright and internet-domain issues with a focus on trademark prosecution, clearance and enforcement and related advice on a national and multi-jurisdictional level. Clients come from fields such as pharmaceuticals, consumer health care, household cleaning as well as the food, beverages and restaurants service sector.
Recent litigation in which Claus Eckhartt has been involved include a high-profile trademark infringement and invalidation case concerning three-headed rotary shavers as well as a series of comparative advertisement cases of restaurant-chains which were litigated between the major competitors in this field.
As joint head of the trademark department, Claus Eckhartt is responsible for the management, prosecution and enforcement work of world-wide trademark and brand portfolios, including trademark and design registrations as well as advice in relation to the importation of grey goods and of parallel imports of counterfeit goods. Other areas include trademark acquisitions, licensing, merchandising, franchising and joint ventures.
Claus Eckhartt presently serves on the INTA Bulletin Committee of INTA and is a member of the editorial board of "Trademark World" contributing regularly to this magazine (see publications).
