Birgitt Friede's practice concerns mainly patent litigation. Recently, she was part of a BARDEHLE PAGENBERG team of attorneys at law and patent attorneys handling a major case in the pharmaceutical field, which covered all instances of the German Court system and comprised also parallel patent litigation in other jurisdictions. Birgitt Friede has a specific experience in the calculation of IP-related damage or compensation claims, such as the compensation for employee's inventions in Germany and damages of the defendant in the context of the preliminary enforcement of IP rights.

Another focus of Birgitt Friede is counselling in European unfair competition law and German anti-trust law with regard to technology transfer and license agreements. Further activities include trademark and copyright infringement.
