JUVE German Commercial Law Firms 2013/2014

Patent Law:

A leading firm in patents which is well prepared for the changes ahead due to the new EU patent/UPC. BP is one of the standout litigation firms in Germany with patent attorneys and lawyers, as evidenced for years by its strong visibility in mobile communications and software suits. […] As a boutique, BP is more internationally positioned than most competitors and already has lawyers at the future UPC seat in Paris. The firm also internalizes the mixed approach of patent attorneys and lawyers more intensively than most German patent firms. This way of conducting patents work will be important in the new European system, according to general opinion. In addition, BP has an “exceptional reputation among US companies” according to a competitor […]. So as not to be too dependent on US companies, BP is stepping up filing activity for Asian companies. The firm already operates a strong European filing practice.

Trademarks & Design Law / Unfair Competition Law:

This highly recommended firm in trademarks and unfair competition maintained its visibility. Again it was BP’s expertise in design law, esp. supporting the patents practice, that drew attention. The market closely followed the merger with Italian IP boutique Casucci-Ferretti, with whom BP had already worked in the past. The firm thus raised its international visibility and established contacts among Italian consumer goods manufacturers.
